  • PnP i Zalto Bx. parfymert lukt med bringebær og hyllebusk. Elegant frukt. Burgundersk stil. Jordbær syltetøy men ikke søt, frisk ettersmak. 1 dag i flaske: fin lit frukt som i går, litt mynte. Litt trekk for kort hovedsmak, lang ettersmak . Uke like begeistret som MB

  • 11% alcohol.
Baga is the indigenous grape variety and is likened to Pinot Noir when made in the classic style.
Fresh and lively with intense, vibrant red cherry and blackberry fruit. Really focused with nice tannic structure. Precise, linear and fine but lacking some complexity on the palate. Very long finish.

    N.B.
Made from Niepoort’s two vineyards in the region, plus bought in grapes. The Niepoort vineyards are over 80 years old, and the youngest brought in grapes are from 100 year old vines. Half is made in lagares with an average of about 60% stems, and the other half has longer maceration with around 15% stems. The wine is aged in old barrels of 2500 litres, and 15.000 litres were made, of which only half has been bottled so far.

“It is not the easiest variety in the world, but if you tame the vines and don’t over crop it, and pick it at the right time, then Baga from Bairrada is probably the best terroir in Portugal.” – Dirk Niepoort

  • ruby, shiny colour - medium intense. nose: very fruity with some buble gum notes. taste: medium (+) acidity; lot of herbs plus tart fruits (cherries+strawberries); sandy tannins; white pepper in the finish; very refreshing.

  • A bit of a Beaujolais nose. Fruit and slight yumminess. Goes into a very nice Burg zone like a CM - dried flowers, tea, a bit of garrigue tossed into just to be different. A bit light and hollow (vintage), but quite nice in totality.
