Disclaimer: Popped and poured, but it should have been decanted for about 2 hours. The color darkened significantly once this was poured. While the color initially was cranberry, it darkened into an inky ox blood. The nose gives up very little at first; it’s tight. Some pomegranate and plum that eventually becomes dominated by black cherry. Eventually, some black pepper, leather and herbs develop. By the last two sips, the wine is opening up. Had this wine been decanted, it would have shown better. The wine is a blend of Merlot (68%) and Cab. Franc (32%). Some slight sediment. 13.6% alc. With beef prime rib roast. 12.26.22. Recommended.

Restrained on the palate, but finished full and clean. Good balance between some dark fruit, some earth and enough acid. Paired well with bison rib eye.

Right Bank blend of Merlot and Cab Franc. The Plum and baker's chocolate notes of merlot and the leafy, savory notes of the Cab Franc have not fully integrated. It does have depth and intensity and should improve in two to three years in the bottle. 4+11+16+6
