Mhb previous TN of 8 months ago was correct. I should have waited a few more years. Sagrantino takes a few years to age. Dry on the follow thru which will hopefully soften out. If so everything is in place for very nice wine. Organic

Great nose of forest musk and fruits. At no point does this wine appear sweet yet the dryness is not austere nor normal tannins one associates with oak, but more naturally from the grape. The flavours in the mouth are smooth yet bold but dry. Will wait a few years and hope the ‘dryness’ softens. The direction this has moved since my first bottle over 3 years ago is not for the better.Research suggest Sagrantino will soften eventually.

having purchased a box of 6 locally last year when in Tuscany & Umbria I have been anticipating my first taste of the grape "Sagrantino" . at 14 euro's a bottle it is a steal. According to my research it is a grape that demands patience to soften it's natural tannins. At 7 years of age they are still there BUT whilst still evident at the beginning and end in the middle you already have a sweet spot. Medium bodied at this stage with some nice gentle fruit on the nose after a 2+ hour decant with no sediment. It is well worth seeking out the grape variety but treat it like your more expensive classic's and it appears to really delivers for the price. It promises to be much more than a curiosity
