  • Give this one another year yet. Strong tannins still. Almost tart on the palate at first. Not my fave but willing to try again at a later date.

  • Great malbec. Smooth, easy to drink. Light tannins, stone fruit on the front. Moderate sediment

  • Malbec tasting session: The appearance is clear and deep purple in colour. Tears are visible.

The nose is clean with medium(+) intensity aromas. There are well-defined aromas of animal (meaty/gamey character), black fruit (blackberry), oak (subtle tobacco, subtle vanilla). Stirling reveals an additional black fruit note (black plum). The wine is youthful.

On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acidity, medium alcohol, and medium body. The medium level tannins are ripe and dusty in nature. The flavours have a medium intensity and show notes of black fruit (blackberry, black plum) and animal (gamey character). On the finish oak flavours show (tobacco). The finish has a medium(+) length.

This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have a great balance with the acidity and an amazing balance with the alcohol. The dusty tannins have a great balance with the acidity. The subtle oak treatment does not interfere with the fruit expression. In its current state the wine shows primary and secondary characteristics. The wine is very enjoyable and has a finish with great length.

The wine drinks well now, but has potential for ageing. The fruit concentration is great, and the acid and tannin structure should support the wine as tertiary notes develop.
