Henri Jayer Dinner (Ming San's): The second of the blind starters. This was not a bad drink, but it was more interesting than impressive. The nose was certainly unusual, with drifts of sweet vanilla alongside Roquefort cheese drizzled with honey. Little red fruit scents on the edges seemed a more by-the-way thing rather than being an integral part of the bouquet. The palate was quite pleasant though. A touch on the thinner side, this showed nice strawberryand dark cherry notes held in a little grip of fine tannins and fresh acidity and touch of fizz. Simple but quaffable. These was a nice length and freshness on the finish as well. A fun discovery.
