  Working my way through the Mavens summer selection. I wasn't sure what the region was when I plucked the bottle out of the semi-gloom. Purple red color and initial flavor suggested Beaujolais and so it proved. Pretty interesting version: fairly high acid, yet soft on the palate, gentle fruitiness but with some structure. Our Mavens do seem to find some unusual uncommon wines on their travels.
