  • 12% alcohol. Tasted blind.

Pale, youthful whitish-green color. Somewhat restrained quite linear and pretty simple nose of fresh apple, some star fruit notes and a hint of yeast. The wine feels dry, straightforward and quite simple on the palate with flavors of steely minerality, some tart green apple, a little bit of crunchy star fruit, light grapey notes and a hint of yeast. Good, high acidity and fine, soft mousse. The finish is fresh, mouth-cleansing and rather short with quite one-dimensional flavors of fresh red apple, some zesty lemony notes and a hint of yeast.

Meh. A rather mediocre Sekt - doesn't offer anything of real interest and comes across a simple as an inexpensive Prosecco. Nevertheless, my guess was German sparkling wine, because I thought nobody in their right mind would pour Prosecco in a blind tasting. Quite an uninspired effort, this really doesn't match the quality of Schäfer-Fröhlich's still Rieslings.

  • Sadly it is markeldy less complex than Champagne. Clean, white fruits, a bit watery even. Good on its own, but not in a mix of good champagnes.
