First winery on our third day in Napa Valley is Paradigm Winery in Oakville with our amazing host, Mary Ann. Second red was their Paravines which is made up 81% Merlot and 19% Petit Verdot from their estate vineyard in Oakville. This is only the second vintage of this bottling, first being the 2012. 14.5% Alc/Vol.
Deep ruby red with purplish hues. Plush and juicy nose with dark spices, blue and black fruits, purple flowers and cinnamon. Drying medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Dusty start on the palate with gravel, black fruits, cassis, black currants and dark spices. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2030. (91+)
