Very satisfying bottle. Only issues were a slightly muted nose and sour notes on the finish that became more apparent after an hour or so. Should hold for a few more years but no reason not to enjoy now.

Med dark red. Red fruit nose, cherry, tobacco. It is light in the mouth and full-flavoured of cherry, cranberry a little confection. No oak to mention! Long.

Nose - warm smooth maturing black currant with hints of tobacco, redwood and cherry. Soft cedar/tobacco/black currant, pepper, a bit grippy and gritty, redwood, cherry, smoky savory herbs.

Drank on Saturday in a vertical from 1999 through 2003. Decanted each bottle for 30 minutes and poured back into the bottle. The 2000 finished 5th out of the 5.

The finest California wine at the Grand tour and a mighty impressive effort for the 2000 vintage. Rich and concentrated. Full bodied with ripe berry and cassis notes. Long finish. 94 points.
