Very pleasant nose of sour cherry, cranberry, raspberry tea, unripe blackberry, some cedar and a hint of vanilla. However, punishingly tart on the palate. Improved some with air, might benefit from a long nap sideways.

Lithe, very lithe pinot. Normally I enjoy this from Sonoma coast wines, because it restrains the fruit and allows the terroir and cooler climate fog and garrique announce themselves earlier on the palate. This wine unfortunately has lithe fruit and everything else. It’s just a bit empty. Balanced but empty. I see drinking window is 2020-2026; I could be missing something here, but I don’t see how this wine has the backbone to drink that long. I feel like it will just become tart and vacuous.

Disjointed out of the bottle. Quite delicious on day 2, however, with a lean raspberry-cranberry nose and smooth, engaging presence on the palate. Hint of violets on the finish. No excess heat. Wish I'd cellared this for 3-5 years before drinking.

Clear dark red color - holding up well. Cherry cough drop aromas. Cherry and raspberry flavors with some silky but bitter tannin on a lengthy finish.
