  • Poured through an aerating spout. Deep dark purple magenta color. Walnut, raspberry, tea, baker’s chocolate, thyme, red currant, and blackberry. Dry, plush, chalky palate. Full tannins on the longish finish.

This is at (or just beyond) its peak for my palate. Love me some F-M. Another beauty opened by Mark1NPT for a gathering of CT folks and their spouses (HowellMountainCru, jsmorris707, and myself). Super fun evening.

  • Pnp later for dinner with Carol's homemade lasagna and finished over 2-3 hours by all. Easy 95....maybe a point more? Dark magenta/purple and opaque.

Nose of walnut, chocolate, dark berries and mint.

Palate of cassis with a thick viscosity and slight drying to the tannins.

  • Ripe fruit superb well balanced with acidity and graphite notes, and cocoa, cigar and vanilla notes influenced from the oak.
Tannin is fully resolved within the wine. The wine is not only balanced but integrated and compete.

It is already amazingly delicious. I think 2-3 years in the bottle will make the oak influence more integrated with the wine. Looking forward to the next bottle in a bit!

  • Back in town and having dinner with the HMCs.....1st bottle of an auction 3 pack. Pnp'd after a 30 min slow ox cork out of the bottle. That's all this one needed.

Dark purple in the glass. Nose of blue/black fruits and the palate is absolutely smooth and silky with a great mouthfeel. Goes on with its balanced acidity for about 45 seconds after you swallow. A wine with great balance. It turns to all black fruit after about 2-3 hours of air and loses some of its early beauty but remains quite good. 96 early on, 94 later in the evening.
