Rheingau - visiting Leitz & Breuer (Rudesheim): {screwcap, 12%, €15, AP 39 17 } Nose of custard-like richness. Generous palate, medium acid, honeyed flavours, less obviously slatey than the following Drachenstein wine. Dry, with a medium length finish. From 40-year-old vines; apparently Leitz’s first bottling of this cuvee. Nice enough wine. The screwcap will do this wonders I suspect, when half your case of cork-sealed flagships have been thoroughly buggered.
