Very appealing nose of lime oil and wet stone, followed by a concentrated mouthfeel showing terrific depth of flavors, this is a wine of great power while remaining elegant, concluding in a palate staining finish. Should be cellared for at least 5 more years, very well made for the vintage but below what Pillot achieved in 2020. In the hand of Thierry Pillot I find Caillerets to be a not so distant cousin to a Batard from the Puligny side.

nose - buttered popcorn. rich mouth - initially a touch reduced b thankfully this quickly blew off. A rich and lactic quality coats the palate though though overall nicely balanced by the acidity and minerality to as to not be cloying. With airtime the wine added heft and after a few hours demonstrated its power and muscle. Long and full.

Mid gold color. Enticing intense aromas of lemon tart, grilled hazelnut, creme brulee, vanilla bean, toasty cedar, wet stone. Full bodied, palate-filling expanding flavours of lemonade, apricot, saline, nutty, spicy toasty with some honey notes, all supported by the acidic and mineral backbone. Lingering and focus. This top notch Chassagne is all about strength and structure. This is essentially Chevalier Montrachet level!
