Flavors of strawberry, tart cherry and raspberry, some earthy funk with a touch of dried herbs. Reminds me of a Spatburgunder. I have a fondness for wines with a bit of barnyard, so i think its great. 92/100

One of two lovely bourgognes that we had on son’s 5th birthday with arais (which was to the face btw). Two of what I am discovering are my favorite producers decanted before serving over a few hours with another visit the following day:
Marchand and Tawse 2016 bourgogne: Beautiful light color with beautiful perfumed nose with hints of fruit and earth. Love the Marchand nose. Day 2 this faded somewhat but was still enjoyable.
Denis Mortet 2016 bourgogne cuvée de noble souch: Darker in color and less aromatic but deeper and sweeter flavors than the Marchand. Day 2 the Mortet showed better and less faded though day 1 it was best.

Nose: intense collection of jammy (too much sun?) red fruit mainly cherry and raspberries with some minor herbal notes. Given its youth, limited evidence of tertiary notes. Palate: the red fruit is less ripe than in nose, more juicy rather than jammy. Somewhat simple and unidirectional but well made and enjoyable. You get a lot of wine for a simple "burgundy" level.

A really good Pinot noir. Light but lots of flavor.
