  Not often I venture to Portugal......
  On nose: red plum preserves, chalk dust and bitter chocolate.
  On palate: all above flavours amplified, in addition to a ghost of fennel, and a subtle note of black liquorice , with raspberry leaf notes and faint damp earth as is it opens after a 2 hour decant.....good , round medium body, with faint oak and light acidity...
  Deep purple/ black in glass with bright red rim...
  Went well with pork roast, Jasmine rice and vegetable medley....but at $46.00 a bottle in Vancouver, will not buy again....there are better options.
