  • Great noise, medium body, Less interesting than remembering. It’s now

  • Medium red and attractive Pinot Noir that is drinking nicely now having taken quite a fair amount of time to come around. I had three of these in 2021, two in 2022, and this final bottle in 2023 and I don't think they really changed much in that entire period. Simple and crunchy, which I think I've said about each one. Stayed on a level for three days in the fridge. A good mid-week quaffer that at the time was very well priced. Nicely done M. Potel.

  • Another good bottle of bargain red burgundy. Crunchy red fruit, heavy cranberry and blueberry. Still a bit firm. Better than the last bottle and interesting that these lesser wines start to peak so long after the vintage - trying one in 2019 I suspect wouldn't have been as much fun.

  • 2017 @domaine_michel_lafarge #aligote big fan of this variety and of this wine. A little citrus, herbs and nuttiness. Palate has some fresh acidity but a lovely creaminess, intermingled with citrus and herbs delicious less than £18 en primeur at @laywheeler

2016 @jeanstodden #spätburgunder a lively red fruity nose of cherries and strawberries, with some oak and some forest floor. Palate isn't massively complex, but it has great balance of red fruits, acidity and a little oak, nice easy drinking #pinot £20 from Lay Wheeler, I have some more of Stodden's more serious wines can't wait to try them.

2016 @domainedebellene #cotedenuitsvillages big fan of this wine as it punches well above its weight. More depth than the Stodden, with red cherries, cranberry, strawberries, some savouriness, oak spice. Palate has a freshness that makes me think there are still a few years left in this. £22.50 from Lay Wheeler incredible value for an excellent crafted #pinotnoir
