Tasted over 2 hrs -med dark red no clearing -red and black cherry spice black pepper -med+ acidity, med/med- weight focused almost liqueur-like red and black fruit sits on top of an iron earthy core, med tannins -vibrant energy is palpable with a tensely coiled mid-palate that gives the impression it is only now starting to unfurl, this is very good and will be better in a few years, nice comparison to the '16 Verdet Boudots a couple nights ago - this is more alive more red-fruited and more NSG/Boudots while the Verdet was riper more stylish and almost lush - both good but stylistically distinct - I prefer the Chezeaux, at this point in their trajectory at least

Coravin. Medium ruby, youthful color with minimal to no bricking; high intensity aromatics, some Vosne-like spices, fabulous depth of cherry fruit, black cherry, a bit of smokiness, some oak which will integrate nicely but not out of place even now; palate is light-medium bodied, superb fruit depth and flavor throughout midpalate, medium alcohol (13.5%) which is balanced, tannins are low but provide just a bit of presence and structure while being effortlessly smooth, medium-plus acidity, bright cherries throughout; finish is medium-plus length. This is really lovely, and as expected for Boudots (lovely aromatics, still with some body and structure of NSG but with impeccable elegance and particularly impressive depth). I think this will develop nicely as it gets more tertiary character over the next 2 decades. 93

Doesn’t drink like NSG, which is probably why it’s great ;). Not as much Vosne spice as you might get from Chezeaux’s vosnes, but this is much silkier on the palate and not rustic. There’s some nice dark fruit and the only real indication of NSG is the tannin on the finish, but that’s also part of the vintage, which is definitely shutting down.

This vineyard is below Les Damodes and a continuation of Vosne Les Malconsorts. Color is a darker tone of garnet. Bouquet is fruit forward with dark cherries, charred oak, smokiness. Palate has aging potential with mouthful of tannins bright cherries medium finish. “Boudots makes striking, full-bodied, almost sensual wines which ‘vibrate’, according to Etienne Grivot” - Jasper Morris. This would certainly agree with that.

Agreed with AAGRAWAL's notes. A lovely red burgundy. Best on day 3.
