N. Rhône trying to be S. Rhône? Over ripe, v high extract. Knew i should have listened to Jancis, 15p, over RP, 93p.
N: Over ripe, almost sweet black cherries, ripe plum, present oak, raspberries & cream. Extremely subtle earthy herb.
P: Full, ripe, unnatural black fruit attack. Still old world in style - fruit is dark, slightly earthy, not sweet. Some garrigue, top soil & leather, with a slab of OTT creamy toasty oak. Med sandy tan & acid fail to balance well.
F: Boozy, toasted oak, dirt. Meh.

Served by the glass. A masculine, robust and resounding wine dominated by a strong tannic charge from the wood in the mouth and by strong meaty notes on the nose. In its style is not bad but being so direct do not expect elegance or complexity here. Sorry.
