For me this wine still needs a long decant. Over the first two or so hours, I couldn’t get past how much heat I was getting on the finish. It started to soften a bit by the third hour, but it was bedtime. On the next evening the second half of the bottle was flying! Big, but elegant. Lot’s of fruit, grippy tannins and no sign of oxidation.

Cassis, capsicum, tobacco, cedar. Full bodied, medium low acidity, dark fruit, dark chocolate and tobacco drive the palate, halfway resolved tannins. Well-integrated oak rounds out the mid-palate and adds texture.
Nicely done, drinks well now with good grip for pairing with protein, though not certain if the freshness is there for the long haul.

Needs a good 3-4h of decanting before drinking

Still drinking very well. My favorite Le Petit Clos vintage by far.

After being a bit underwhelmed by this I think it is now coming into a much better place. Still plenty of time left however.
