solid napa cab. well balanced fruit and acidity. initially, oak might be a touch heavy and some heat on the finish, but after an hour in the decanter, everything evened out. good QPR @ $50, not so much at $100+ from the winery

tasting notes much as last time -- very enjoyable, smooth and complex, with a satisfyingly long finish. However, the bottle is so incredibly heavy that I will not purchase again.

Pink rim, dark ruby center. Blackcurrant, leather, tobacco, cedar, tar and soil. Bold and concentrated, silky tannin, long finish. Reminded me of Pessac Leognan style claret.
We drank a vertical of 2012, 2013 and 2015. I preferred 2012 over 2013 because 2012 was more tamed and integrated. 2015 had good potential and probably needed at least 2 more years in the cellar.
According to winery, Audax has been all estate grown grapes since 2013 vintage.
