Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 90.5 points

  • Very concentrated, ripe plums and black fruits, full bodied.
I found it too much and without complexity.
    Not my favourite

  • A powerful and full bodied Amarone (17% ABV) but relatively balanced. The aroma is dominated with dark fruits and raisins but also plenty of different spices. There is also earth, wood and (i think) leather. The wine has a very good almost perfect QPR and beats many more expensive Amarones in the world. I am happy to have some more in my cellar cause I think some years of cellar time will result in an even more positive score.

  • Blackfruit on the nose (hard to differentiate at this stage) with huge amounts of varied spices, perhaps more than any other amarone I have tried. Full bodied (17% ABV) with a mix of black cherry and blackberry upfront. Much more balanced and rounded through the middle than the alcohol or the nose suggest. Redfruit notes (especially tart cherry) come in towards the back along with the expected wall of tannins. This was more structured than some other amarones I have tried, but given the fruit and the alcohol level, it actually results in a more complete wine. There are drying notes certainly, but no heat or alcohol show-through and overall, the structure and fruit elements work quite well together. Lots of raisin notes on the finish along with spices and hints of leather along with good length. I was expecting a massively spicy, hugely tannic, power-fruit driven monster. I'm very pleased to say that what actually was in the glass was powerful yes, but already exhibits balance and will get even better with some additional cellar time.
