I knew it was old, but we're clearing out older wines (and enjoying the ones that are still good!). At opening, it had sharp, licorice, caramelized flavors. We decanted for a short period, to give it some air. It paired really well with the tanginess of BBQ Country Pork Ribs. Strong Cassis, and Cherry, Raspberry flavors. It was better with the Ribs than by itself, but I am happy that we were able to enjoy it!

Ah, what a beautiful wine this is. Harmony and balance define this seamless, enticing wine, all from Walla Walla appellation grapes. Emerging cigar-like overtones interplay with espresso, dried cherries and lots of other components that are way beyond the abilities of my taste buds. Best of vertical tasting from 10 years - see http://gortonator-on-wine.blogspot.com/2012/06/decade-of-walla-walla-vinters-cabernet.html for full write up

Drinking very well now. Nice balance. A nose of cedar, spice, raspberries, blackberries, chocolate covered cherries, pencil lead, and green olive/green pepper. Lots of dusty red fruit on the palate as well as some mellow vanilla, chocolate, and olive. Medium plus finish with some well integrated tannins. CF from WA state doesn't get much better.

Still drinking quite well. Great floral nose, bit of spice in the medium to full bodied cab franc flavors of chocolate and berry. Fully integrated tanins, no bricking, pleasant medium length finish. Soft oak, very well balanced, no acidity at all.
