Community Tasting Notes (9) Avg Score: 91.3 points

  • Deep, earthy nose with some red and mostly black fruit, cigar box, pepper and sage.

More Grenache-dominant red fruit on the palate, and still lots of spice in a seam with acidity. Little tannic structure but a pleasantly long finish.

  • Wonderful rhone blend. Great mouth feel, lots of mourvédre dark cherry notes with a bit of lovely spice. I'd give it a rating of 92, and happily drink it again and again (wishing we had more!).

  • Funky Mourvèdre like nose comes out right away. Cotton candy, tart berry, blueberry and a little mushroom has come out already from a bit of age. Has nice acid and mineral notes with baking spice, menthol, and is quite savory. Not overly tannic, more acid-like which adds a lively zing to it that creates energy and tension. Could pass for an actual Southern French Grenache since it has some herbal notes, but it has a touch more vanilla oak than its French counterpart.
This is a great food wine, as it will cut through fat and provide a great Ying to a rich food yang.
Overall a terrific wine with restraint in its making from the winemakers with the Washington fruit. Well done Rotie.

  • Lots of vanilla oak with fresh red fruit accompany spice, leather and smoked meat on the nose.

Great body on the palate with red fruit, earth and spice. Toast, vanilla and smoke. Excellent secondary- and tertiary qualities already. Lengthy finish. There is a difference in these wines since they went to estate grapes in 2015.

  • Drank this by candle light since we lost power. Limited notes. Lots of fruit, blue, and black mostly, some red. Soft, if non-existent tannins. Medium acidity, not incredibly complex but very tasty and fruity. Medium bodied and was pretty good with burgers that we could barely see. Love rotie.
