Holy cow this was good. Crazy aromatics with white and yellow flowers, peaches, citrus fruits, lemons. Loads of bright acidity. Tons and tons of energy in this bottle. A glass of sunshine. Just so much going on in here. Young but still very approachable.

This is Riesling “in Excelsis Deo.” It begins its seduction by releasing intoxicating creosote aromatics. The nose greets you with volatile oils (think camphor and limonene) strongly evocative of kitkitdizze’s resinous fragrance perfuming the western slope of the Sierra Nevada in the summer. This is a wine that doesn’t just arouse the soul it transports it. From the first taste you’re seized with a reverent sense of the holy placing you in a sublime state of awe. Candied lemon-drops liquify in the mouth and caulk it with their mineral powder. Crystalline, saline, and laser focused with penetrating acidity and a profound depth of fruit. This is why Somms the world-over often sing of the glories of German Riesling. Many years to go but boy, oh boy is it a stunner right now.
