Aromas of blackberry, earth, a little wood glue, cream, savoury spices, a touch of bonfire and biscuit as well. In the mouth it's got juicy acidity over ripe blackberry, a little chalky tannic grip, shows more primary that my Coravin tastings; gains generosity with air. Rather pleasant with Coq au Vin (made with Larmarche VR Malconsorts 04) and mash.

From Coravin. Initial impressions are of earth, dry wood, five spice then ripe blackberry, black tea and leather start to show as the wine sees the air and warms from cold cellar temperature. On the palate it's juicy, savoury, the fruit a little muted, a little leather, tannins are somewhere between grainy and floury textured, all travels long. Hmm.

From Coravin. Cream, a little caramel, muted strawberries with blackberries in the background. There is a slightly resinous note here as well as some mushroom. The fruit translates to the palate with a touch of black tea and a slightly grainy tannnic burr. Hmm.

Coravin - Readiness to drink (Kennards, Waterloo): From Coravin. Earthy with farmyards, slightly unripe brambles, mushroom, five spice, a little cedar and more of the same on the palate. Plenty of tannic structure and grip. Long, balanced, very enjoyable now or let those tertiary flavours encroach for a few more years...
