100%, sustainably-farmed Cinsault vines. Aged in clay amphorae, then bottled unfiltered. Hazy ruby w/a garnet rim. Med+ purple flowers, mostly tart red fruit, w/some macerated. blueberries, mushrooms, earth, forest floor and a bit of Brett. Dry, w/ med+ acidity, med tannins, med alcohol (12.5%). Med body, flavor intensity & length. Nicely balanced and flavorful, but somewhat lean and unremarkable.

No formal note, has a unique nose that only single varietal cinsault can deliver along with a more savory palate. Would have scored higher but is lacking in enough structure to raise it up, the acidity is sufficient but not outstanding and there are no tannins to speak of.

De Martino Cinsault Viejas Tinajas 2016- light body, fresh entry. Burst of tannic finish. Certainly taste better on first day. Didn’t appreciate any good evolution subsequent days. Wouldn’t buy this bottle again 6.5/10

A wine that did not really stand out. Nothing real distinctive or that separates it and makes you say wow. Lighter bodied. Unoaked which would make sense with the lack of complexity to this. One thing it did have was balance. Other than that not so much.

Nice fruity summer drinking wine. Very light-bodied wine. Goes down easy.
