Initial impression upon opening: Color: Fairly clear with brownish-red color; Nose: Bright nose; Mouthfeel: light on the middle of the tongue but long-lasting; Taste: Cola and bright cherry with some black pepper, slightly hot

Nice Ruby color. Aromas lean heavily towards dark, ripe fruit: balckberry, plum, currant, with just a bit of spice. Wine was very hot when first opened, needing over two hours for the alcohol to subside. Flavors of fruit with a hint of coffee/toffee. Decent tannins still present. Surprisingly short length and clean finish. A fine merlot on the front end (once the alcohol subsided), but short length left me hanging.

Earthy notes. Tobacco. Dark fruit. Could age longer still.

Great Merlot and unfortunately the last '01 in my inventory. Great color, big fruit - blackberry, plum, currant, with a touch of spice and oak.

Great California merlot. Ripe fruit, dark plum color and nose with smooth cherry/chocolate through the finish.
