  • Appearance: clear and bright, lemon-gold core, no discernable rim, golden highlights with medium intensity and medium velocity. nose: clean, youthful, highly aromatic nose (medium + intensity) of honeysuckle and honey along with crisp red apples and a slight apple blossom bouquet. palate: off-dry, hints of honey, honeysuckle, red apple, apple blossom, orange blossom, and marmaladeand a subtle spice (white pepper, juniper) along with steely mineral background and a touch of vanilla, possibly from short oak aging. Acid is medium, oak is not evident. Good complexity. Body is medium with a long, fairly persistant finish and mediyum alcohol. This is retiscent of Gerwurtztraminers I've had from Alsace, as evidenced from their dry, mineral backbone and tight structure. The quality appears to be moderate+, and the wine seems about three years of age. This is a "drink now" wine that may hold for another year.

  • Luscious gold color, decadent aroma of lychee, honey, apricot, and subtle spice. Off-dry, medium-full body, medium acidity. Like drinking honey -- but in a "good way." Seems hard to pair with most meals, so best served as an apertif or with foie gras or scallops sauteed in butter. Also consider with cheese at the end of the meal. WAH
