Sometimes you get exactly what you paid for. This one is a case in point. A muted, simple version of CdP, which is slightly disappointing, given the vintage, but mitigated by the $19 paid. Drink within 5 years, as I doubt it'll get better.

Really needs to open up so give this time - not a pop and pour. After 2-3 hours. I felt it reached its peak. Still a little tannic bite but under control. Nice fruit, perhaps a little on the thin side but definitely enjoyable with food.

Bottle 3 of 8. Not so impressive when last tried in Feb 2019 but thought it might have potential. This one was much better and seems to be entering its window. Did a quick decant and continued to improve over 2-3 hours. Paired very nicely with weeknight beef stroganoff. Excellent QPR.

1st time tasting a Chateauneuf du Pape and I like it. Opened and let breathe for 2 hours, but, it really started to open up after 3 to 4 hours. Deep red/purple in color with flavors of candied fruit and cherries. Very enjoyable.

So-So. Intense juicy flavor, but a bit high in alcohol and not a lot of depth. Short finish - an OK midweek wine.
