Lots of overpowering flavours and aromas coming through at first. Lemon astringency. My wife initially didn’t like it so I decanted and aerated it to give some air to develop. It turned into a great wine. Having a beer while it opens up before I return. Returned. Well developed now. Light oak and honey now coming to the fore. Lighter lemon with yellow stone fruit and ripe rock melon. Really great wine. Had with light spiced BBQ spatchcocked chicken. Caramel, custard and lime wrapped up in key lime pie.

Terroir-istes International - Australia-Victoria, Mornington Peninsular Chardonnay (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind):An intense nose with evident mineral and cordite aromas. Savoury edges with fresh chalk and pretty scents of lemon rind, apple blossoms, and citrus. The palate is all chiselled with incisive acidity, giving exceptional crispness and focus. A remarkable penetration of flavours led by crushed rocks and a combo of citrus zest, orange, oatmeal, white peach (blossom) and even some red apple, all giving a little rub of positive phenolics. Excellent concentration, the fruit is all ripe, and the flavours unfold on the palate, leaving long and with a pithy, almost warming sensation resembling dry marmalade.

Clear pale straw. Nose is clean and medium. White blossom, nectarine, some tropical fruits, ripe lemon. Dry with medium (+) acidity. Body is medium (+). Flavour is medium (+) and palate has lemon, nectarine, citrus and a soft silky texture. Finish is medium (+). Great potential to age and develop.
