I love this wine, first time for me. Thought the 17 might be much too young, it was already enjoyable. Well balanced, nice fruit. Soft tannin. Next try in 10 years.

deepest purple red color, intense polished nose of mulberry, cassis, pressed herbs and blackberries, on the palate quite large and dramatic, drying tannins recede to reveal a good deep fruit with exotic tones, good length, punchy cherry fruit notes with time, fragrant finish, over the course of two hours it opened to reveal aggressive herbal notes and a really sexy mid-palate with hints of coffee off-set by punchy black fruit, it feels modern but it is very nicely balanced and showing plenty of nuance- so I am optimistic for a good future.

Truffle, licorice and ripe black cherries command your attention immediately. On the palate, the wine is supple in texture with a profundity of fruit and glossy, silk tannins that are impossible to overlook. With a touch of jam in the back note. Everything is in balance from the start all the way through to the plum, vanilla, chocolate and boysenberry filled finish. This is quite an accomplishment for the vintage. The wine is made from blending 91% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc. The wine reached 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.51
