Community Tasting Notes (12) Median Score: 90 points

  • Nose of smoke and tar and very earthy/spicy. Very balanced flavor and enjoyable. Tannins were smooth and finish was medium-long.

  • Similar notes to last bottles. Still very nice freshness. Robust moderate dark dirty cherries and earth. Some leather and touches of cigar box. Subtle and elegant. Drink now or within three to five years.

  • This bottle was not nearly as good as the previous.
Lacked energy and the fruit was virtually all faded. Something was off.
Not so enjoyable. Maybe an off bottle but maybe just dead tired.

  • My score is legit y'all.
Really gorgeous showing for this wine. Absolutely singing with some nice darker dirty red cherries, leather saddle, some light cigar box and tobacco leaf with green olive and dusty purple flowers.
Palate is really well integrated and just about as smooth as you could get. This was clearly stored perfectly. More dark fruit, spice box and earth. Finish is elegant and shows lots of restraint and finesse that I love in the well made Napa Cabs of the nineties. Other two bottles I could actually hold for a few. Was expecting these would be "drink right now!"

  • Pop and pour and tasted with food (fettuccine with a tomato-prosciutto sauce, and grilled lamb chops, in case you were wondering).
This was purchased on release and stored in 55 degree slumber.
    Dark purple color.
Nose offers up cherry notes and ripe plums.
Deep flavors of cherries and some underlying mushroom notes.
Rich and flavorful with good fruit notes and sufficient acidity to keep it balanced.
Tannins are nicely integrated into the wine, giving this a rich and velvety mouthfeel.
    Delicious.
