  • Body, balance and blue fruit. Got steadily better in the glass over the next two hours. Only downside is I don't have any more.

  • PnP on the beach at Naples NYE fireworks. Powerful, dense and fruit forward. Great barrel influence giving cocoa powder and coffee notes. Just the right amount of acid to balance out the big blue fruit. Tannins fairly fine but very present.

At this point this is not an elegant wine with a wonderful nuanced nose and long finish. But if you are after a great tasting fruit forward chocolate monster with good balance, this is real pleasure. I thought it was great. 94 and would be higher if it showed more prominent nose and finish. Perhaps with more air? We will find out on the next bottle.

  • On PnP, this was harsh and biting. After a 45 minute decant, a friend who likes fruit forward wines, enjoyed it. I didn’t try it until the 3 hour mark after the friend mentioned how much the wine had changed. While still full bodied and bigger in structure, this had evolved nicely to show blue and black fruit in a smooth and luscious package. Decant decant decant if drinking now.

  • Similar to my previous notes, great wine and drinking very well right now as a PnP.

  • Deep purple with powerful and rich aromas of black currant, raisins, eucalyptus, coconut, chocolate. Wine is developing. Very rich and thick mouthful of black plums, smoke, licorice with high acidity, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, full body and medium finish. Very good wine that can be enjoyed now but will benefit from another 4-7 years in the bottle.
