  Beautiful nose, highly aromatic with violet, perfume, cherry fruit and herbal notes. Very fresh for 23 years. Palate shows really nice cherry fruit, hints of anise, with a nice salinity and taught finish This was really built to last Great bottle.

  WineBerserkers dinner (Chicago, IL): Pretty good bottle of Aldo -- this isn't marred at all by any wood. Definitely a touch volatile, with lots of black fruit and a touch of licorice. The palate is reasonably resolved and shows some ripeness.

  Had with lamb sugo with my mother and sister visiting. Deep red, years still left in it with very little bricking. Perfumed, roses and blackberries. Great cru and one of my favorite barolos.
