2014 really was a magic vintage for white burg. This is another prime example. Floral nose with honeysuckle, pear, pineapple, beeswax and just hints of peacan. Palate is quite fat and rich but with incredible focus and energy. The acids carries the bountiful fruit, wax, glycerol, heather and buttered bisquits all the way to the long, slightly salty and floral finish. Nothing not to like.

12.5% alcohol. Semi hard wax top that you can just drill though. Exemplary cork, probably the longest that I have ever seen (certainly on a white wine) and virtually free of defect. The colour is bright lemony. Very pleasant nose of yellow flowers; the intensity increases with exposure to air. Maybe less accomplished in the mouth as the lemony aspect dominates too much; very refreshing though. A good wine for sure, but still a disappointment relative to the reputation of the producer (and the attendant price); I see that the current vintages are offered in the 50-60 € range at my supplier, and this makes no sense whatsoever; even half that would be overpriced. Not a repeat purchase.

12.5% alcohol. Medium hard wax top. The cork is of top quality, maybe the longest that I ever saw on a white wine and extremely dense; here is a producer who has faith in the longevity of his wines and who does not believe in cutting corners. Pale straw colour with a greenish tinge. Very vivacious nose mineral and lemony; good floral aspect too. The mouth has good depth but it is not quite harmonious yet on account of a slightly overbearing acidity. No perception of oak. This wine is at a very early stage, so it is not quite fair to pass judgment on it; I would say that it has vg potential based on its length and grip. It might even reach eventually a level that justifies its hefty price tag.
