Dark in glass with no sign of age. Still tight upon opening and it started to open after a three hour decant. Nose became expressive and pretty with tobacco, violets and concrete. Black raspberries and tart blackberries on the light but firmly tannnic palate. Classic, authentic cabernet franc. This was good on release, then shut down, and now just starting to be reasonable. Easily can age another 5 years or more. The 2018 vintage is much more approachable now.

I usually do not veer far from the community consensus but I could not find most of the positivity that other reviewers gushed so enthusiastically! Perhaps I let this go a year or two too long but if he surprised if that were the case. Bottle variation? This was drinkable, certainly, but it was very much one dimensional - lacking all of the fun cab franciness that I was looking forward to!

The QPR on these is insane. As long as you're not afraid of little bit of green in a cab franc that makes absolutely no compromises for the "modern, global consumer" palate, this is your jam. The main issue for me is that they need cellar time to come around and/or air time to open up, which makes them slightly challenging as a house wine. Otherwise, they would be practically perfect.

12% alcohol, $15/bottle, and this tasty? Sign me up. 20 minutes of air in the glass, medium bodied, and prominent green pepper and olives as other notes have observed. Not even remotely the same flavor profile as a Cotes-du-Rhone, but a similar “feel” as something you could happily enjoy with a meal without needing to think too much about it. Not something I would drink every day, but very enjoyable.
