Had a 2017 of this in 2020 which I suspect colored the experience. Color: pale straw Nose: white flowers quite prominent. Stone fruit, pear and almond Palate: fresh with a hint of sweet (this is aaaalmost off dry) and nuts as it hits the tongue. Honeysuckle, pear and apple. Some cashew. Some mineralogy as well, with a little stone. Medium acidity. Medium body Finish: short with acidity and fresh

This shows good cut, focus, and balance, with lemons, green apples, and honeydew atop a bed of citrus blossom. There's something green too, like a swoosh of minty complexity. It's pretty tasty, and develops a tactile pungency and white pepper persistence the longer it sits in the glass.

Pale straw color. Aromas of Bartlett pear and green apple. Acidic! Pear, citrus (lemon/lime) and mineral flavors. I found it too acidic to drink by itself. Best with food (Air frier chicken/pork)

The color of liquid sunshine, J Vineyards 2017 Pinot Gris unfurls to reveal perfumed layers of d’Anjou pear, white peach, freshly cut green apple, granulated honey, and elder flowers. Gentle, whole cluster pressing has created a wine that is crisp and refreshing—a burst of lemon-infused acidity subsides to dulcet mineral tones. This would pair beautifully with shellfish or seafood. 13.8% ABV | Sample

Several Tastings today! (Minneapolis, MN): Another mediocre Pinot Gris from California. Lemon, floral and grass. Short finish.
