This is a Big wine with 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache. Delightful to drink on a casual evening. A wine to surprise company with, because it is such a terrific bargain

Clear dark purple in the glass. Intense nose of herbs and purple fruit. Medium full bodied palate leads with dark purple fruit, yielding to menthol, currant, and a hint of herby anise. Medium plus(!) tannins and medium acidity make this a wine as comfortable with a sit-down dinner as with medium cheeses or cookout fare. Some serious hooch in this bottle, and at seven bucks it’s a stellar QPR. If this is what happens when the Old World takes aim at the young New World market, I’m all for it! Again: seven bucks!

A middle weight Syrah that is fairly dark but not inky. Chocolate and berry notes dominate. Lacks the power of the best Syrahs, though priced right.

Chocolate berry with a leather aftertaste and a lingering spice. Very nice for a cheap wine. High alcohol content, turned teeth veryyyy purple
