PnP for a half-bottle. Remarkable wine given the age. The nose of typical “Chateau Margaux” with floral and full of elegance. The palate still offers quite some fruit, fully integrated tannin and some pencil shaving note. Medium to long finishing with very nice after taste. The wine evolved very fast in the glass, and we have to drink up in 15-20 min every time we pour in. Overall great experience.

Flickinger Warehouse Tasting (Chicago, IL): Another wine more of historical curiosity than of bacchanalian pleasure. There's actually a very nice perfume here on the nose, though I'd be hard-pressed to say it's the same stereotypical Margaux perfume. It's lovely light red fruit here, with lots and lots of acid. Still alive and kicking, to be sure, but there's not too much left here by way of enjoyment.

Sweet, floral and very satisfying. A classic old Bordeaux. Nothing wrong with this bottle; held up beautifully. Born the same year as me and aging much better!

(Château Margaux) Light medium brick red color with pale meniscus; lovely, sweet red fruit, cigar box, tobacco, smoke nose; tasty, mature, elegant, delightful, tart red fruit, mushroom, cigar box, mineral palate with balance, in remarkably good shape for 60 years; medium-plus finish 94+ pts. (the fill on this bottle--top shoulder--signalled that this was a well kept bottle, which was born out by the wonderful nose and palate)

To Bordeaux of the evening - remarkable for the freshness and vibrancy, plum and black currant mixed with pencil shaving and cigar box flavors
