Return to Aus; 6/23/2019-7/5/2019 (Adelaide, South Australia wine regions, Tassie, Yarra, etc.): This wine for me got totally overshadowed by the Omensetter although that's not really a fair comparison given the price differential. This was again a more intense wine. Also in the category that gets held back a bit more. Has some nice acid though and lots of the darker fruits. There's a touch of sweetness to them without being over the top. Lots of spice still. A blend of old and new oak which leaves the wine feeling a bit fresher (for sure I wasn't overtaken by the oak in the wine).

2 weeks in Australia with a stopover in Singapore; 6/14/2019-7/1/2019 (Singapore, Sydney, Adelaide, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills): Tasted at the winery. 100% Shiraz - some newer oak is used here. Picks fruit about 1 month earlier than neighbors to preserve freshness and acidity. Dark and dense color. Dark fruited with tannins gripping on entry but moving to some softness on the back end. A strong orange peel note comes through. Brad says "This is the Shiz"!
