Fascinating wine. Much lighter in color and translucent than you might expect for Mourvedre. It's not thin but clearly made with a light touch. The nose is bubblegum and red fruits. And that really sticks around. I thought it might be some more primary notes just hanging out but it doesn't really fade overnight. The palate though shows fantastic acidity giving this a real old world sort of feel. It makes the wine lively and electric across the palate. Again with a lighter body and touch here. Not as forwardly fruity as the nose. Just enough tannin. No clue how this will age. I don't really see the fruit depth or density for lots of improvement. But that bubblegum thing might throw some off and you'd think it would chill with more age. The build make this a really kind dinner companion. In any case this is a unique wine and far from what most people are used to seeing from CA Rhone wines. Looking forward to given the '19 a go soon.

Terrific wine. Very savory on the tip of the tongue. Then I get flavors of dried dark fruit--not too far from red raisins from those little boxes but without the sweetness. Noticeable acid spritz on the tongue, but not unpleasant, at all. Medium-bodied. Just so approachable. I wish I had more.

Gorgeous, limpid, beguiling, somewhere between light and medium weight, can't wait to drink more of this. Great now, at least 5-7 years of life here I'd guess, too.

Restrained, but in a good way. Red fruit shown, but balanced acidity. Overall, just a great drink.
