  • Light yellow and clear. On the nose it shows a classic expression of Riesling, it's elegant, with white fruit, lime and wet rocks. On the palate it is sharp, with very moderate and well hidden sweetness. You feel it a bit at the start, but then it gets deeply mineral and plays between sweet and salty. On the finish it settles on orange notes at first, but then evolves towards lemon and grapefruit. Although I liked it a lot, I also felt that it was somewhat in between the youthful and the mature phase. Better wait a few more years before the next bottle.

  • Similar to last bottle. Sweet with a bit of acidity. Perfect compliment to Chinese food.

  • This was young and tightly wound. Initially slightly reticent and reserved, but with a couple hours of air this wine started to rock and roll.
Notes of smoke, spiced peaches, and mouthwatering Empire Apples emerged as the palpable energy of this wine began to emerge. Pretty florality fluttered over the top of this juicy and powerful beauty. The acidity that gradually showed itself was prickly and invigorating, giving a long and lip smacking finish.
This wine has so much packed into its 'small' kabinett frame. It will benefit significantly from another 5 years of cellaring, just to let some of the components to find their place and harmonize. There is so much to like now with its youthful exuberance, but excited to see where this goes with more time in the cellar.

  • Slightly sweet but also acidic. It’s a really nice combo that works well together.
