Second note, roughly 2+ years since the last. I've still got a couple of bottles of this knocking about in the cellar so popped one open to see how it's holding up. Medium gold in the glass, showing just a touch of maturity. The nose is really fresh and vibrant with floral notes, apricot, spice, anise and caramelized citrus. On the palate it's rich but crisp with lots of ripe stone fruit, red apple, violet and poached pear with a touch of waxiness. The finish is long, lively and vigorous. Poised and impressive and shows how even these straight AOC bottlings from Guigal can develop. Will drink well for another 5+ years at least.

I love the wines of Guigal and this St. Joseph blanc appears to be another very well crafted wine. It has a gorgeous green gold colour in the glass. The nose is quite serious with plenty of honeysuckle, white peach, roasted apricot, a touch of violet and some lovely salty minerality. Beautifully textured, concentrated palate with good acidity and nicely defined fruit. Drinking well now but will hold. Stylistically this comes across as classier and more restrained than the Crozes blanc.

I just opened the bottle and this is my first tasting. Nice pale almost greenish color. Nose is fruity, apple pear reminder and seems promising. In mouth it is very light, but short lived in taste with a hint of bitterness that lingères. Not sure if it is the chemistry of my mouth just now or the fact that I just opened the bottle. Need a 1/2 glass for cooking. Will try later and see if it turns out better.
