  • Tried this tonight for the first time in a year. Love this wine: like peach juice on the tongue, but then with a zingy, acidic finish that cleanses the tongue before the sweetness can stick. Peach and petrol on the nose. Concentrated almost like a dessert wine, but with a long, stonier finish. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.

  • Took this to a family dinner where my wife made roast duck. This estate really straddles the Nahe and Rheinhessen regions. Scheurebe is only 3% of their plantings. The Kirchberg vineyard is one of their top sites and has more clay than volcanic soils. Normally sells for about $15 but I found it for $3 on clearance. ypical Scheu character. A little too sweet in my opinion which did not make it a good match for the duck. Notes of grapefruit and honey. 85 points.
