Thick and overproduced - feels like it got a chardonnay treatment, smells and tastes exactly like a standard 20-30USD California chard. Not hiding even its 12.5alc at all, and drank poorly with a home-field advantage plate of trout with dill, roasted potatoes, boiled cabbage, and Swiss (okay...) cheese. On the second day I may have finally gotten a hint of the "white pepper with gherkins" nose said to be characteristic of the grape, but I suspect self-deception.

By the glass t the BA lounge, LHR from a fresh bottle. Quite a welcoming wine, soft and round with good fruit and soft edges. At times it had an off dry feel but it felt due to the ripeness rather than residual sugar although we cannot say for 100%. Good 90
