This is a big eloquent pinot both on the nose and on the palate. Big fruit that leans toward a syrah (without the pepper) but its acidity keeps it fresh and enjoyable. There is a lot of stem here perhaps and its reflected on the nose. This is versatile in the sense that is drinkable alone as a cocktail but also went well with a beef stew with vegetables.

What a tough wine to do blind. One of us called Cab Franc, I called old world Syrah... the reveal was confusing.
This is a dark, brooding Pinot that has a lot of stem, dirt, and rusticity. Can't say it comes across as a Pinot, or a Burgundy at all. Seeing the notes detailing all the non-Pinot characteristics here make my ego a bit more padded, lol. Surprising reveal!

I'd give this wine a 91 on quality, but it probably isn't ready to drink. The wine has dark shadowy personality. I agree with OnWisconsin that there is a good amount of fruit and savory/stemmy flavors, but it doesn't come together. There is a good amount of tannin that should allow this wine to age out but unclear whether it will get tastier.

Black cherries, tilled soil, and a leafy note from stem inclusion.
Low tannin and medium acid. Finish exhibits intense fruit concentration.
Opened this bottle to test drive my new Zalto Burgundy stems. The fruit concentration on palate and nose reminds me of top tier California Pinot and the tilled soil/stem character remind me of Burgundy. The structure is definitely a let down and makes me question how much longer this could age, but overall a good wine.
Update on day 2: Score lowered to 91, as I don't believe the elements come together. There is intense fruit concentration and savory notes, but they just aren't cohesive. It's also very stemmy (arguably too much) on the nose, but not on the palate which is throwing me off.

Good fruit but doesn’t really taste like a pinot. I thought it was a zin!
