Riesling bash at CHIKO (Chevy Chase, Maryland): Very pretty, seems young, with a lot of concentration of fruit, honey, flowers. The acidity livens up things nicely and the pear and bruised yellow apple fruit is pure and juicy. Nice to have a FLX Riesling in the mix and have it show so well. That said, I'd bury this for like seven years or something if I had some.

So somehow I ended up with two of these still, and therefore drank zero of these in three years and four months (which was a complete shock to me). This wine is doing beautifully, but really is still quite a youngster. The nose of this wine is honeysuckle, honeyed lemon, herbs, and brioche. The palate is a sweet herbal honey, definitely has an herbal and somewhat brambly quality about it. Weighty and obtuse on the palate up front, then dries to a more acidic and leaner quality, a bit of petrol, mostly honey and herbs. And I really expect this one to grow and develop quite nicely over the next 7-10 years, so there is no way that the 2018-2024 CT drink window is even close to accurate (I doubt this one was even showing much of anything back in 2018). Proper drinking window 2023-2035.

Even though I noted the residual sugar levels on the bottle, the sweetness caught me by surprise. That being said, it’s clean, rich and deep, with melon and ripe berry flavours. A very fine wine for considered sipping

Good color. The nose is a bit tight; showing aromas of apricot, honey, flowers, minerals and a hint of spice. This is medium bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and very good class. The medium plus length finish features a mineral element.

Delicious Riesling, much softer in mouthfeel and more unctuous than the tasting room note in September 2018. "Excellent," 91/100.
