  • I held on to this to see what some age would do. Or maybe I just lost it in the cellar.. at any rate, it was time to drink up. Light golden in colour. Lovely nose of rotten fruit, pear and funky nectarines. The medium bodied, slightly off dry palate is slightly oily and viscous, with the same funky rotten, nutty fruit (in a good way), wool, butterscotch, oats and a chalky note. This has definitely changed with age - has it improved? I think so, if you like the aged, nutty flavours on display, which I do. It still clearly speaks of its variety and still has the acidity to match the rich flavours. Quite impressive for a 13 year old entry level Vouvray, but I wouldn't wait too much longer (A-).

  • Light yellow/gold in colour, with classic chenin nose including wool, apples and an earthy note. Smells off-dry, and reflects its sec tendre status on the medium-bodied palate, with a lovely balance between the sugat, fruit and acidity. Slightly viscous, with earthy apple, pear, oats and honey notes. Still rather primary, so it should last another few years: not bad for an entry level wine from a good but not great vouvray producer (B+).

  • Tasted blind - Opened and served right away. Medium lemon in colour, pale throughout. Nose of barnyard hay and ripe apple. Flavours of baked apple, slightly sweet. Medium acidity, light to medium body with a medium length finish that gives notes of cinnamon. Not good qpr for $25cad.

  • Confected dried honey almost balanced by good acidity. The second day, lack of balance still could not compensate-- and sweetness still bordered on cloying. Drinkable but not enjoyable.

  • Light straw colour. Faily muted on the bouquet but a little hit of white flower. Very nice acidity, a little sweeter with nice fruit. Well done. 89+
