Travel Shock. Closed, disjointed, short finish. Test bottle to determined if wine cooked in transit. Three still on shelf will give 3 months and try again.

Remarkably bright & youthful purple looking - a hint as to an aspect of the palate...
Coffee/woody/pencil shaving with bright black fruits on the nose. Certainly more oak influence that some would enjoy.
On the palate, somewhat unbalanced by high acidity (c.f. the hint earlier). Some tannins remain and the fruit still remains strong, but far quieter than the acidity. If the acidity had been dialled back this wine would have been as comforting as the 98 Magnificat we've enjoyed before. It might be better in 5-10 years or might just fade away, I'm not sure which. This producer is capable of longevity in their reds, but I sense this wine will always need appropriate food to utilise the acidity as a strength rather than a weakness.
