Color: brick red, rust Nose: sour cherry, earth, undercurrent of barnyard, eucalyptus Palate: black cherry, cocoa, cedar, pepper, blackberry Mouthfeel: nice balance of fruit and tannin, pepper stills says around
Paired well with lamb leg roast.

This Pinot Noir has the appearance more of a French style, lighter colored, and transluscent wine than one usually gets with California produced versions. Flashes of brilliant, Carmine Red refracted light, brings with it a nose of crushed rock and golden raisins. Nice accidity with tannins that will help this wine last longer in the bottle. The finish is burdened with some bitterness (but not bad) and peach pit astringency, but altogether makes a fine, and cultured offering. I like it and would happily open for guests.

Very pretty appearance of light, Carmine Red. Thin legs, surprising with 14.5% ABV. A bit of gun powder on the nose, with burnt carrot essence. Very dry with savory flavors ending in sour cherry, plum finish. Acidity and tannins in balance, but not my favorite Pinot Noir. This is a Calera product??? The wine is acceptable, drinkable, but not one to serve to guests.

Fine, delicate structure, excellent balance of cherry, spice, acid sharpness.

Damn, wish I had bought more! Fine and aromatic, medium body, still improving.
